What does the SANITIZE.EXE do?
==============================

Most Quicken customers are afraid to send tech support copies
of their Quicken data files, because there is a lot of personal
financial information involved. The Sanitize tool is an attempt
solve this problem.

Sanitize.exe takes a Quicken Datafile, copies it, and
scrambles all of the information in the COPIED datafile.

If you reopen the copied datafile, you'll see that all of the
payee names, security names, account names, categories have been
changed to scrambled strings.

How to install Sanitize.exe
===============================

1.) Copy sanitize.exe from the directory that this readme.txt file
    is located to the directory where you installed Quicken.

    That's it.

How to Use Sanitize.exe
===============================

1.) Make a backup of your quicken data file.
We STRONGLY suggest that you backup your quicken data file.

2.) Goto the file menu and choose the OPEN option.
Find the Quicken Data File that you want to scramble.

A directory called ""UNNAMED"" will be created in the same
directory as your original data file. A copy
of your data file will be copied to that directory.

REMEMBER: The COPIED data file will be scrambled, NOT the ORIGINAL FILE.
